Streampix, You Saved Me!

by Cecily on April 25, 2012

Last month when I was battling the stupid, annoying, PIA pneumonia (still coughing here in April!), I watched a LOT of television. In fact, I watched more TV in a two week period than I’ve watched in the last year, frankly.

You all might have heard that I’m now a Comcast Ambassador. Which means I got early access to the absolute awesome that is Streampix.

Here’s what Comcast has to say about Streampix:

Stream full seasons of shows and top movies instantly on multiple screens, like your laptop, iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch® — and where available on TV in HD. Enjoy unlimited streaming of every episode from every past season of top shows like LostHeroes30 Rock and more. Plus, get a deep catalog of award-winning movies you can watch anytime, anywhere. XFINITY Streampix lets you get all the best entertainment from one provider so you won’t need an additional subscription service.

While I was sick, I got to watch all my favorite comfort movies without having to do anything other than click my remote. Yes, I watched The Fifth Element. Twice. It’s one of my favorite movies, okay? And I watched Roadhouse. YES, that Roadhouse, the one where Patrick Swayze plays a ballerina style bar bouncer. I LOVE THAT MOVIE. It’s terrible in ALL the best ways.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a heavy on-demand user as it is, so Streampix was like a perfect fit for me. And guess what? It’s cheaper than Netflix! Here’s the pricing info:

If you subscribe to any of the following packages, XFINITY Streampix is already included: HD Preferred Plus XF Triple Play, HD Premier XF Triple Play, HD Complete XF Triple Play, or Blast Plus. And XFINITY TV customers can upgrade to XFINITY Streampix for just $4.99 more a month.

Yes, Comcast is sponsoring this post. But I feel very, very strongly about the awesomeness that is Streampix. SERIOUSLY. Check it out if you’re a Comcast customer, and if you’re not – well, I feel sorry for you.

Recently the Great Wolf Lodge (Pocono Mountains location) extended an invitation to my family to visit their site and enjoy an overnight stay as their guest. We were going to be trying out the brand new Story Explorers feature, which sounded fun. We tacked on an extra night just for fun, and arrived a day [...]

Review: Takeya Pitcher & Water Bottle

October 1, 2011

I’m not a big design type person. I mean, I know what I think is beautiful and what is not, but no one would ever accuse me of being a design blogger. But when Takeya USA offered to send me a pitcher and a water bottle to try out, I leapt at the chance because, [...]

Review: The Lite Sprites

October 1, 2011

A few months ago, my daughter started seeing commercials for the Lite Sprites toys. Of course, she does this for everything she sees on TV, but the Lite Sprites brought forth a particularly impassioned bit of whining. I had it on my mental list of possible holiday gifts, so when the folks from Lite Sprites [...]

Remember when I went to that sex party?

August 24, 2011

So, last week I went to a sex party in New York City. No, not THAT kind of sex party. Get yer mind out of the gutter. Heh. No, this was a party celebrating sex thrown by the masters of condom manufacturing, Durex. I was honored to be invited, and happy to go, particularly because [...]
