Photos and More

So, I'm spotting a bit again, and while I await the return call from the midwife, I figured I would occupy myself by posting a short entry, including some photos from Monday's ultrasound...

I must say, the penis shot of the one baby is quite funny...

In other random thoughts, I've been exploring baby carrying methods. I've heard you can carry two slinged twins until they're about seven months old, and that seems like a good option.

But I'd dearly love to do this instead...

I grew up in Albuquerque, and saw Navajo women carrying their babies like this all the time, and I never once saw one of those babies crying. They were always smiling or looking out at the world with fascination, that great Navajo baby hair sticking straight up in the air.

Course, here on the East Coast, I'd be arrested for child abuse using one of those. Too bad.

The midwife just called back. Not to worry. Probably just irritation from yesterday's vaginal ultrasound (which did hurt a bit on the old cervix)...

Some friends of ours lent our godson a cradleboard, which he adored. His mom couldn't really wear it, but she bundled him into it to sleep. I say you take the trend to the East Coast! By the way, your babies look perfect--so glad for you.

You might be able to work out a back sling and a front sling to sling both (but wow...heaviness) or get two slings for the both of you. I have a friend who makes the slings and wraps and she's brilliant at them. Her little girl loves the closeness.

Hope the spotting goes away and look how those boys are growing!!

I spotted alot with the vaginal ultrasound too. Freaked me the hell out. Glad everything is ok!

I love ultrasounds at this time during pregnancy, babies remind me of little ufo's. So cute. :)

A woman I know online

who sells Maya Wraps had twins and slung them (first together in one sling and then later one each in two slings and then later one in the sling and one walking or in the stroller) until they were waaaay older than 7 months. She's very strong by now, I'm sure. Some good pictures of her with the boys here and there on her site -- that's her on the front page several times, including cooking dinner while double slinging. ;D

Could you use a wrap (like the Mobywrap or Ellaroo) and put one on each side when they're small?

The best thing about that board is that you can hang the baby from a tree, safe from harm, while you get stuff done. I wish they made them for toddlers.
