Five Reasons The World Has Gone Stark, Raving Mad

1. Today, a nun called me a saint. It involved a traffic accident (I wasn't in it, she was, I witnessed) and I feel like the accident was kind of my fault (I told her she could cut across in front of me, and neither she nor I saw the speeding maniac that came out of nowhere and t-boned her) but it was sweet of her and I'm glad I could help a bit.

2. My favorite 6'2" transgendered stripper-turned-strip-club-bartender is now working at the customer service desk at the K-Mart a few blocks from my house.

3. It nearly December and it was 62 degrees and sunny here in Philadelphia after TWO WEEKS of fucking freezing cold rainy days; tomorrow is expected to be the warmest Thanksgiving Day on record.

4. For the first time in nearly a dozen years I am heading toward Christmas and NOT WORKING IN RETAIL.

5. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and I have more to be grateful for than can fit into 24 hours.

You can blame my son. As I keep telling everyone, it's Nathan's World, we're all just living in it :) And as you can tell, he's an odd little boy. (but totally cute and sweet and all that).

We sure are having some weird and wacked out weather in these parts. No global warming, my ass!

I've got way more than my share to be thankful for this holiday, and I'm putting your blog on my list. Have a GREAT HOLIDAY!!!

Love #5. Aint that the truth?! Happy Thanksgiving, Cecily! You know we hardly ever agree but something about you keeps me coming back! ;)

6. For the first time in years, I am not cooking up a storm the night before Thanksgiving. We are having a low-key lunch, and then getting on the plane for warmer climes. Weird.

I don't really comment ever, but I had to say I've had a really crappy day and coming here and reading this put a smile on my face. Thank you for the cheer up. I too have many things to be thankful for.....

That nun story is absolutely priceless. I'm glad she was okay!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's great that you have so much to be thankful for. Thanks for reminding me to count my many blessings.

Your transgendered person reminds me of someone I work with. She and her kids knew 'Jerry' for years. Now he is a girl - and her kids still say "Look mom, there's Uncle Jerry!" - and they are now grown ups.

Happy Thanksgiving!

OMG was the stripper turned bartender have a name that starts with a T???
Would I know her

Happy Happy Thanksgiving I am glad it was not you in the accident

I, for one...am grateful for YOU! Thanks for all the off-line help and advice. I'm doing great and just wanted you to know just how big of a role you played in that!

O...boy. If anyone calls you about the accident pretend they have the wrong number. I once handled a claim where the person who waved someone into a turn (as you did) was found liable for the accident BY A JURY!!! ...for the reason you cited - you can't control other traffic. Crazy I know.

So change your name if the insurance company comes a-calling.

stark raving mad indeed. :)

Happy Thanksgiving.

"OMG was the stripper turned bartender have a name that starts with a T???"

I second the question!

If it's her, tell her that "Jonny Angel" sends his best. I miss her!

Nuns are funny people. She called you a saint, but anyone else would have accused you of attempted murder! Glad everyone's okay :)

Woo hoo on #4!! It's my first in a long time, and I am soooo looking forward to it! Enjoy your time - no annoying customers (who we love at all other times of the year) and nitpicky random requests!
