On A Much Lighter Note: The New Hairdos
I finally have pictures of Tori's splendid new hairdo, thanks to my awesome friend Danielle:
Sorry for crappy photo quality. I've had a bad photo week.
And, once again thanks to the wildly amazing gifts of my friend Danielle I present Cecily's pink hair do-over, 25 years later:
Children openly stare, teenagers are green with envy, and adults carefully look past me. It's hilarious. By the way, she dyed my eyebrows too which is why they look twice as big and I look kind of pissed off (and why I had to don sunglasses for this photo--much plucking must happen).
I must say, it has cheered me immensely. Nearly 40 is the PERFECT time for pink hair, because it's just for fun and not for rebellion. It rocks.

Hey, while you're at it, why not get a tank-girl do, and we'd be internet-twins! :D

You both look fantastic. I SOOO wish I was brave enough to do something like that!! I hope your week has ended on a more positive note and that all is going well for you. Have a great weekend.

That looks AWESOME.
Also, if you lived near me, I would totally invite you to join our playgroup. None of the moms I run with are put off by tattoos OR pink hair. Also, it's full of little boys, we could use some girls to even the score.

I'm 55 and my hair is pink, too. It gets REALLY bright over gray hair. Just you wait!

Thanks for the 'hair-spiration' Cecily :). I am now also sporting the Louise Brooks too cool for school do and loving it!
I would go for the crayon coloured but I can't quite get away with it at work. May when I have a few more years there and they really can't fire me! (sad state of affairs, perhaps a posting topic for you - pink hair, one more prejudice it's ok to have.
Oh and I am also jealous you're still wearing sweaters. We had the a/c on and I slept in a tank top last night!

Your new hair = absolutely gorgeous!!
I have kept out of the whole discussion last week, for good reason as I believe, but wanted to say that even as a pro-lifer (which I happen to be for myself) I have never understood the whole fights in your case. Sometimes, there are situations with only shitty outcomes, kwim? And it is a good thing that you survived and went on to have a good life after all.
I wish you peace and happiness,

Very cool!!! And to think I'm always nervous when I use light brown instead of medium brown hair color!! LOL!

Awesome Hair!!! I am pregnant right now and with the no dye rule some white hairs have been popping up but man I would love to cover them up with a fun color like pink. And Tori's haircut - so adorable!

Yay for cute baby cuts!
Yay for pink hair!

Damn, I'm jealous. I've always wanted to dye my hair, but the blondness made me leery. I did just chop mine off today. Score one for impetuousness. (I can't have spelled that right.)
I LOVE the new look, Cecily. I especially dig the duotone.

Yeah for self confidence. My 13 year old asked for purple streaks and a purple under color about two months ago. So, ummm, we colored it and she was thrilled to head back to school with purple hair. Her friends were SOOO jealous because my Princess has the "coolest Mom ever" who will let her try anything. Wooo who knew I would get to be the "coolest Mom ever"? I just think there are things in this life worth arguning about and trying to control, the color of her hair isn't one of them. If I feel like it needs to be toned down a little so she doesn't get booted from school then we'll talk about it. But right now, it looks beautiful, if a little different, and she loves it. I am a lucky Mama.
She has just changed over to contacts from glasses so she has a whole new look and at 13 a new and different look is apparently to be envied by all. Now you will get to be the coolest Mom ever too when you let Tori have bright pink hair with blonde streaks =-). Just think about the possibilities.

ADORE the hair, Cecily! My inner new wave/punk chick has luckily never gone away. If she did; I'd be concerned.

Love both the do's! I turn 40 soon. I think my entire family might faint if I did this! LOL. There's on good reason to go for it . . . I'm just not sure I'd have the nerve. Wish I did, glad you do!
